Naked raku again

My Bettys

In year two, we were asked to select a potter and copy a work. I chose Betty Woodman and "My Bettys" aimed to look like something she'd made. Betty died last week and I have to thank her for providing the inspiration for much of my work - tall forms with useless handles and a love of glaze.

Night garden

I found a box of six bisqued lily forms from 2014 recently and decided to give 3 of them a quick glaze in the test kiln.

Low tide series three with gold

I think the gold "pings" the pieces and was what I intended earlier on. However I'd run out of the gold lustre glaze at that time and the kilns were heavily booked so a month later, they're now finished!

Low Tide

Two remaining from series one and three from series two came together to win a merit prize at our Otago Potters Group annual exhibition 6 Oct 2017. That's a $US50 Amazon book voucher - how nice. The judge also liked "Jaffa and Gumdrops" but decided on this group.
