new bottles

This is what you have to do when you don't have a studio! These bisqued bottles for an upcoming show are camping on my in-built dressing table. I'm looking forward to dressing them up for their big event.

Pink/black tall vase revisited

This shorter vase of the trio was able to be given two more glazes & fires in my usual kiln. The "mezzotint" finish was exactly as I'd hoped would happen.

tall vases: trials and tribulations

They're too tall for the kiln I usually use so had to find another kiln. That kiln blew an element so the vases didn't reach temperature but remained at 1070 for 36 hours before the problem was noticed.  The second glaze in another kiln underfired - the cone 6 I put in only went to about cone 5.  I will see what happens with another firing at a higher temperature, if the pots will let me. They may have had enough.

5 unintentional thaw Graces -

These are the result of trying to recapture an earlier glaze scheme without success. When this happens sometimes the only thing to do is to give the pieces a complete makeover.
